Crystal Diaz-Espinoza, PhD, joined the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences as Director of Graduate Enrollment in November 2023. In her role, Dr. Diaz-Espinoza leads ongoing development, implementation, and revision of the Robbins College strategic plan for graduate professional enrollment management. She works to plan, manage, and implement effective strategies to increase graduate programs and enrollment within the college.
Previously, Dr. Diaz-Espinoza served as the Director of Enrollment, Career & Alumni Services for Baylor University’s Garland School of Social Work (2016-2023). She is active in diversity related initiatives across Baylor’s campus and serves in several leadership roles at the university, including as President of the Latinx Faculty & Staff Association. Prior to coming to Baylor, she served as the Assistant Director in the Center for Women in Technology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (2012-2016) and as an Academic Advisor in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Tennessee (2010-2012). Within the Waco community she is on the Board of Directors for Grassroots Community Development and Inspiración Waco. She also serves as a race equity consultant for the Waco and Cooper Foundations, helping bring together community leaders to engage with race equity efforts within their organizations and in the greater Waco community.
She earned her BA in Great Texts of Western Tradition and an MSEd in Higher Education & Student Affairs from Baylor University. She earned her PhD in Higher Education Administration from the University of Tennessee. She enjoys supporting local Waco businesses, Broadway musicals, reading, cooking, and college sports. Her favorite way to spend her time is with her husband, Mito, and her daughter, Luna Rose.
