Following a successful site visit and reaccreditation review, Baylor University’s Department of Public Health has been approved for accreditation for seven years, until December 31, 2033, by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).

“We are delighted that Baylor Public Health has been reaccredited by CEPH for a full seven-year term,” said Jacques Baillargeon, PhD, Chair of the Department of Public Health. “This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of our faculty and staff, with special recognition to Dr. Eva Doyle, who led our accreditation effort with exceptional skill and commitment. We are proud of this accomplishment and grateful to everyone who contributed to strengthening our programs and advancing the Department of Public Health’s mission.”

Baylor Public Health was first accredited by CEPH in 2013. An independent agency established to accredit schools of public health as well as public health programs outside schools of public health, CEPH seeks to assure quality in public health education and training to advance the science and practice of public health. Maintaining CEPH accreditation provides Baylor University with the standards and accountability to deliver the highest quality in academic public health programs. It also qualifies Baylor students for specific career opportunities only available to graduates of CEPH-accredited programs.

Housed in Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences, Baylor’s Department of Public Health is committed to measuring health, promoting health equity, improving the well-being of vulnerable and underserved populations, and training the next generation of public health researchers and practitioners. The Department offers an undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Public Health (with new Pre-Medical and Pre-PA pathways), a Master of Public Health (with degree options in Bioethics, Community Health Science, Environmental Health Science, Epidemiology, Health Data Analytics, and a MPH/MBA dual degree), and a PhD in Public Health with specialization opportunities in either Epidemiology or Social and Behavioral Health Science.
