Baylor Public Health Announces New Undergraduate and Graduate Academic Program Offerings
The Department of Public Health in Baylor University’s Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences is pleased to share several updates regarding Baylor Public Health academic program offerings at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Understanding the benefits of a public health perspective for healthcare professionals, Pre-Medical and Pre-Physician Assistant (PA) concentration options have been added for the Bachelor of Science in Public Health. These concentrations provide undergraduate students with an education that both meets the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals while also fulfilling medical/PA school prerequisite requirements. The coursework also adds significant value to medical/PA school preparation by emphasizing public health-oriented concepts such as global health challenges, population health and prevention, and health policy and equity.
In addition to these undergraduate developments, Baylor Public Health has added new degree offerings for its Master of Public Health (MPH) program. These degrees have been thoughtfully designed to equip graduates for in-demand career opportunities and growing professional fields.
The new MPH in Bioethics is uniquely aligned with Baylor’s identity as a faith-based institution, cultivating ethical reasoning, character formation, and a commitment to human dignity. Students will develop the knowledge and skills needed to analyze, articulate, and address ethical challenges in population health, health policy, aging, biomedical innovation, and pandemic preparedness, equipping them as technically competent and morally grounded health professionals.
The new MPH in Health Data Analytics responds to a sharply growing need for professionals who can support health systems, insurers, and public health agencies in leveraging large-scale data for improving population health, reducing costs, and enhancing quality of care. Baylor graduates of the Health Data Analytics program will be prepared to interpret results and translate analytics into system change in light of population health, policy, and ethical frameworks.
In addition to these new degree offerings, Baylor Public Health has also partnered with the Robbins Institute for Health Policy and Leadership in the Hankamer School of Business to offer a MBA–Healthcare Administration / MPH–Community Health Science (MBA/MPH) dual degree. This deliberately designed curriculum blends business strategy and the science of healthier communities, giving students the opportunity to earn two fully accredited master’s degrees in just three years and to receive an education that uniquely positions them for leadership roles in health systems, public agencies, nonprofits, consulting firms, and global health organizations.
The MPH in Bioethics, MPH in Health Data Analytics, and MBA/MPH dual degree join the existing MPH in Community Health Science, MPH in Epidemiology, and MPH in Environmental Health Science to create a robust, interest-oriented portfolio of graduate opportunities for prospective students—all grounded in the high-quality learning experience and practice-based approach of Baylor’s respected Master of Public Health program.
