Evan Andreyo Joins Department of Physical Therapy as Clinical Assistant Professor

Clinical Assistant Professor Evan Andreyo

Baylor University’s Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences is pleased to announce the appointment of Evan Andreyo, PT, DPT, PhD, as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, effective April 1, 2026. In this role, he will support foundational learning for Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students by teaching Human Anatomy and Human Physiology courses.

“We are excited to have Dr. Andreyo as part of our incredible team, and we look forward to his many contributions to teaching, student success, and scholarship,” Brian Young, PT, DSc, Department Chair and Clinical Professor, said. 

Andreyo studied at Slippery Rock University, where he earned both his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. He earned a PhD in Health Sciences, with a concentration in Human and Sports Performance, from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions and completed an orthopaedic residency through the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. Currently, Andreyo is a board-certified clinical specialist in both sports physical therapy and orthopaedic physical therapy and holds an Emergency Response for the Athlete certification. 

Andreyo makes his way to Baylor from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he served as the Director of Admissions and Assistant Professor for the hybrid physical therapy program. In addition to academia, Andreyo has 10 years of experience in clinical practice and has research interests focusing on ACL injury prevention, post-surgical rehabilitation, return-to-sport testing, and advancing student learning in DPT education. 

Residing in Pennsylvania, Andreyo is co-owner of Apex Performance Institute where he provides elite-level care to help athletes achieve a high level of performance. Outside of his professional career, Andreyo enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, running, and woodworking.
