Department of Physical Therapy Celebrates Inaugural 2025 U.S. News & World Report Program Ranking
Baylor University’s Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences is celebrating the latest round of U.S. News & World Report graduate program rankings, including one program making a top 50 inaugural debut.
The hybrid Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program entered the U.S. News rankings for the first time at #42, making it the highest ranked hybrid program, the third-ranked program in the state of Texas, and placing it in the top 16% of physical therapy programs in the nation.
“We are humbled that our peer DPT programs have bestowed this recognition for Baylor’s hybrid DPT program. This isn’t a destination for us, but rather validation that hybrid programs have a clear place and future within DPT—and even broader health profession education,” said Brian Young, PT, DSc, Chair and Clinical Professor for Baylor’s Department of Physical Therapy. “I am thankful for the dedication of the faculty and staff who have contributed since program inception, support from across the university and the Army-Baylor DPT program, our many collaborations across DPT academia, and to the individuals who were influential with the vision of hybrid education within physical therapy.”
In addition to celebrating the hybrid DPT program’s inaugural ranking, Robbins College is also applauding the U.S. Army-Baylor Doctor of Physical Therapy program, which ranked #10 nationally and #1 in Texas in the latest U.S. News Best Physical Therapy Program rankings. Though distinct program offerings, the hybrid DPT and Army-Baylor DPT programs maintain a close partnership. Many hybrid DPT faculty have previously taught in, or even graduated from, the Army-Baylor program— and the two programs are frequent research collaborators.
“It is gratifying to see our Robbins College physical therapy programs receive well-deserved recognition across the board in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings,” said Jason R. Carter, PhD, Dean of Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences. “The acknowledgement of peers across the nation for the excellence of these programs is a testament to the dedicated work of our faculty and staff and their commitment to high-quality educational experiences for Baylor students.”
